SIGNORIA DI FIRENZE: Since the 1930s the Cappelletti family has produced artisan quality linens from the glorious Tuscan countryside.
Production was small and created for the local Italian market. The term
luxury linens referred to bedding that was white or ivory with embroidery (usually a dainty floral) or lace embellishment.
The 1980s see the next generation take the helm. A modern Renaissance man,
Francesco Cappelletti, who completely understands the concept of
la dolce vita, takes charge of product development and marketing.
He is inspired by art, fashion, Italian furnishings, cinema and the opera.
Although
Signoria di Firenze still produces opulent white and ivory jacquard bedding worthy of a Merchant Ivory film, the primary focus of the company today is on sleek, modern textiles in colorful hues. Recent collections have included iconic patterns by Verner Panton and updated versions of classic Rococo designs in a contemporary color palette.
A hallmark of Signoria di Firenze bed linens is the use of saturated colors such as plum, cognac, espresso, and midnight blue. 2016 will see several subtle additions to the contemporary color palette such as
antique rose,
flax,
olive, and
silver sage.
Acknowedged as a leader in enlightened product development, Signoria bedding is already internationally known for overall design excellence.
Signoria di Firenze modern bed linens can be found in hundreds of boutique shops in Italy, as well as fine linen stores in Moscow, Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai, and of course at
